Get to Know Dr. Hubbell J. Smith
Dr. Hubbell Smith brings a thoughtful, patient-centered philosophy to the world of dentistry. Growing up in Gallipolis, Ohio, shaped by the dental profession—his father a general dentist and mother a pediatric dentist—he recognized early how impactful trusted, compassionate care can be. His academic path reflects his love for both science and precision: Dr. Smith graduated summa cum laude from Miami University with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry, then earned his dental degree with honors from the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honors society reserved for top students.
After returning to Ohio, Dr. Smith completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. This advanced training solidified his ability to deliver comprehensive dental care with precision and empathy. In 2020, he purchased the West Side Cincinnati practice where he now provides high-quality dental care in a warm, inviting setting.
What sets Dr. Smith apart is more than his credentials and skill—it’s his natural ability to build trust and put patients at ease. He’s passionate about clear, pressure-free communication and ensures his recommendations align with both the patient’s goals and best long-term outcomes.
Outside the office, you’ll find Dr. Smith staying active through fitness, spending time with his wife, Kari, traveling, exploring new books, and cheering on Ohio State football and UNC basketball. His personal commitment to both professional excellence and creating meaningful relationships supports his broader mission: helping people feel confident in their care, their smile, and their dental decisions.
